The Saudi Ministry of Information's Konoz media initiative has released the documentary "The Destination". The film traces the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's recent milestones in the fields of politics, business, sport and culture. It focuses on the continuous implementation of the Vision 2030 reform program and the positioning of Saudi Arabia as an emerging global destination.
The title of the film symbolizes the country's forward-looking departure towards ambitious goals in numerous areas - an unprecedented journey with pioneering megaprojects of global appeal.
With "The Destination", the Saudi Ministry of Information wants to draw global attention to one of the most remarkable national transformation stories in recent history and show how profound this change really is.
The film is available on Shahid, STC TV, the Saudi TV channels as well as on the platforms of the Saudi Ministry of Information and Konoz. Authentic images from all regions of Saudi Arabia create an impressive portrait of national progress.
The film features the following personalities, among others: Prince Turki Al-Faisal, Chairman of the King Faisal Center for Research and Islamic Studies (KFCRIS); Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Saud, Saudi Minister of Sports; Mazen Al-Sudairi, Advisor to the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers; Jerry Inzerillo, CEO of Diriyah Gate Development Authority; and Dr. Firas Khalil, Head of Cardiac Surgery at King Faisal Specialist Hospital (KFSHRC).
Focus on regional projects
Through a visual narrative that links the past, present and future, “The Destination” places particular emphasis on the human dimension: real stories that celebrate the Kingdom's cultural richness and geographical diversity. The focus is on regional projects, the promotion of national talent and dynamic cultural development in the midst of a civilization that is thousands of years old.
The production of "The Destination" was first announced as part of the Impact Makers Forum (ImpaQ) in December 2024 - along with a series of other films and documentaries from the Konoz initiative. The creation involved nine national film studios, over 80 specialized production companies and more than 2,600 creative professionals - a testament to the Saudi Ministry of Information's strong commitment to local content and production.
Konoz is part of the Human Capability Development Program (HCDP) within Vision 2030 and aims to document the cultural heritage, history and individual achievements of Saudi citizens through documentaries, short films and feature films. Successful productions include: Hard Phase, Station 7, Seagull of Arabia, Ala Hadden Sawa, What Saudis Eat, Saudi Atlas and Horizon, as well as the short films Raee Al-Ajrab and Safraa's Night, which have been shown at prestigious festivals worldwide and won numerous awards.
