The reception took place at the ambassador's residence in Berlin-Dahlem - in the garden. Despite the low temperature of 15 degrees, the ambassador appeared in a summery outfit while many guests had slipped on thick jackets. In her welcoming speech, the diplomat gave an overview of how bilateral relations are to become even closer.

In foreign policy, the ambassador made it clear that Chile condemns the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine and rejects authoritarian efforts by some European governments. In the current Middle East conflict, Chile is positioning itself with an “unequivocal condemnation of Hamas's terror,” but also “loudly against the genocide committed by the Israeli government against the Palestinian people.”
